Our Story

Newspaper clipping with the opening of Bailey Wighton 1958 From the Courier

Started in 1958 by Renwick Wighton and Jack Bailey, we've been in the same unique building ever since.

Though we no longer do furniture and curtains, throughout our history we have been committed to providing a personal shopping experience to match our flooring expertise.

Over the years we have had only three owners in total, and our current owner, Peter has run the company for over 25 years.

He has 40 years worth of fitting experience and is a specialist in fitting complex work such as runners, wood, patterned floors and more unique products such as marmoleum and cork.

He still leads our fitting teams every day to ensure every flooring we fit meets our highest standards.

Despite having a small shop front, you'll be wowed by the vast and beautiful showroom we've curated inside, showing off the latest and best flooring has to offer.

While there is a lot to choose from our helpful and experienced team will be able to hone in on which flooring is perfect for you.
